The Sidetic language flourished during the Hellenistic period, approximately the 3rd century BCE to the 5th century CE. As a city located on the southern coast of Turkey, Side was a significant center for trade and culture. Consequently, the Sidetic language developed in response to both local and external influences, particularly from Greek and other neighboring languages.
