A Lawrence educator, Trish Averill Neuteboom, has been named a recipient of the 2024-25 Lied Center IMPACT Award, acknowledging her dedication to arts education in the community.
The Lied Center announced Averill Neuteboom's award in a news release, highlighting her significant impact on the next generation of performers in Lawrence. She teaches creative arts, speech, and drama at Southwest Middle School and collaborates with community programs, such as the Lied Center's 3rd Grade Theatre Arts Day and the Lawrence Arts Center's Summer Youth Theatre.
Trish Averill Neuteboom holds a degree in musical theatre and directing from the University of Northern Colorado and a master's degree in education from Baker University. With 25 years of experience in directing and teaching theatre, she has been with the Lawrence school district since 2006. The Lied Center presents the IMPACT Award each season to an artist or group for their contributions to the performing arts and to a Lawrence school district educator for their service to youth. This year, the awards will be presented during a performance by the Paul Taylor Dance Company on April 16 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $14 to $40 and are available for purchase on the Lied Center’s website or at the ticket office.
