What makes the Dhivehi language unique to the Maldives?

Thaana, which is written from right to left, was derived from earlier script systems, including Dhives Akuru and the Arabic script. The Thaana script comprises twenty-four primary letters, specifically structured as consonants with an inherent vowel, along with diacritics to modify this vowel.
