Other languages read right-to-left include Persian (Farsi), Urdu, and Yiddish. Persian, spoken primarily in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, uses an adapted form of the Arabic script called the Perso-Arabic script. However, unlike Arabic, Persian is written using an abugida system, which is an intermediate writing system between abjad and alphabet.
