In the majority of Spanish-speaking countries, including Spain, Mexico, and most of Central and South America, the "ll" sound is pronounced similarly to the English "y." Think of the English words "yes" or "yellow." When saying Spanish words like "llamar" (to call) or "calle" (street), you would pronounce them as "yamar" and "caye" respectively. This pronunciation is often referred to as "yeísmo."
