The Importance of Long-term Engagement

Abby Walker, one of the teacher residents, emphasized the benefits of spending an entire academic year in the classroom. “I would recommend it over and over again,” Walker expressed, noting that witnessing student growth firsthand has been rewarding. She shared, “I’ve seen tremendous growth in students who were once defiant. By building relationships, I saw a spark in them that motivated them to learn.”
